Pre-electoral coalitions and cabinet stability in presidential systems

Most comparative research on coalition cabinets in presidential systems have set up theoretical models assuming that coalitions are mostly a product of post-electoral agreements whose objective is to confer a majority to presidents that would otherwise count on the support of a legislative minority.
